The Division of Information Technology and Library Services (ITLS), along with the Banner Campus Experts, will begin a staggered rollout of the new Banner 9 system in April and is targeting campuswide use of Banner 9 in May/June.
With any system upgrade, people often grow concerned over what will change. The project team has been working closely with the vendor, Ellucian, to understand and anticipate these changes. Many of our departmental experts have already been trained and will be great resources. Access to self-help materials, including two BlueLine courses, is already available for use at doit.creighton.edu/Bannerresources.
Banner 9 delivers several important enhancements, including a modern user interface, improved navigation and management tools, and new functionality across the student and finance components. It also provides greater flexibility. Banner 9 is accessible from any browser, thus ending the need to use older browser versions. Please be assured that because we are only upgrading the Banner administrative modules, there will be little to no impact on our students. The NEST will remain the same.
