Chadwick Named Inaugural Vice Provost for Health Sciences Campus in Arizona

Jacque Chadwick 030Yesterday, Creighton Provost Tom Murray, PhD, announced that Jacqueline Chadwick, MD, will be the inaugural vice provost for the Creighton University Health Sciences Campus in Arizona. She will continue to serve as the executive director of the Creighton University Arizona Health Education Alliance, a position she has held since July 30.

Effective Nov. 1, Chadwick will lead the Arizona campus, which is projected to have a total enrollment of approximately 800 full-time students, including a four-year satellite medical school with 400 students, 150 nursing students and 250 students in our pharmacy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician assistant and emergency medical services programs. The academic environment at the campus in Arizona will reflect our mission and identity as a Jesuit, Catholic institution, with a student body well-versed in the humanistic aspects of their respective professions and having a strong commitment to social justice and future professional lives that prioritize service to others.

As the senior Creighton administrator in Arizona, Vice Provost Chadwick will report to Murray. In concert with the deans and our Arizona associate deans, she will assist in development and coordination of the academic programs at the Phoenix campus. In addition, she will chair the Creighton University Arizona Governing Council, which will include the deans and the Arizona associate deans.

A family physician, Chadwick has a distinguished career in medical education, administration and advocacy. Prior to becoming executive director of the Creighton University Arizona Health Education Alliance, she was vice dean for Educational Affairs and Accreditation at the Texas Christian University and University of North Texas Health Science Center School of Medicine, and previously was vice dean for Academic Affairs at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Phoenix. She has an extensive track record in Arizona’s health care education system, and has served as president of the Arizona Medical Association.
