Peck Appointed to Chair Positions, Publishes on Animal PT

SPAHP_Peck_KirkKirk Peck, PT, PhD, chair of the Department of Physical Therapy was re-appointed to a five-year term on the Nebraska Board of Physical Therapy. Peck was also was appointed to chair the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy: Legislative and Ethics Committee. Both appointments began on Jan. 1, 2020.

From Oct. 23-24, Peck served as a key presenter at the APTA Kansas 2020 Fall Conference where he presented Animal Physical Therapy In The 21st Century: Historical Perspectives, Educational Standards, Clinical Practice, and Legal Implications.

Peck published an article on A Political Dog and Pony Show: Policy Making in Support of Animal Physical Therapy, in the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy Forum; 35(1), 2020. The practice of treating animals by physical therapists has grown nationwide since the late 1970s, but not without political controversy.
