The Clinical Reasoning Assessment Tool was originally developed by faculty members in the Physical Therapy Department at Creighton University and is now being used by the University of Colorado and other Physical Therapy programs to evaluate students’ clinical reasoning process both in the didactic and clinical setting. Creighton’s PT program has used this instrument over the past five years to assess students’ clinical reasoning capacity and readiness for clinical practice at the end of every semester. The development of this instrument was funded in part by an internal grant from Creighton University through the Office for Academic Excellence and Assessment which is now housed under the Teaching and Learning Center.
