Edward DeSimone, II, RPh, PhD, FAPhA, professor in the Department of Pharmacy Sciences in the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions was appointed to the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Comprehensive Opioid Abuse Program (multi-disciplinary action group).
The goals are to reduce prescription drug overdoses, decrease rates of opioid abuse and increase patient safety. The purpose of the grant is to develop multi-disciplinary projects by leveraging key data sets to create a holistic view of the health burden of opioids/other drug and develop interventions based on this information.
