Joy Doll, OTD, OTR/L, executive director of the Center for Interprofessional Practice, Education and Research (CIPER), co-authored a free continuing education training on Fetal Alcohol spectrum Disorders (FASD), Interprofessional Collaborative Practice as a Model For Preventing Alcohol-Exposed Pregnancies for the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
The online training course describes the importance of interprofessional collaborative practice in health care and how to implement this approach to prevent alcohol-exposed pregnancies. The course provides continuing education credits, and allows learners to save their progress - thus offering the flexibility to take the training as schedules permit.
The goal of the activity is for participants to gain practical insights and tips on how to design and implement interprofessional collaborative practice teams for the prevention of alcohol-exposed pregnancies.
