Hermsen Elected to National Institute of Standards and Technology

Hermsen, BS, DDS, MS, professor in the department of Endodontics at Creighton University School of Dentistry was recently elected to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Organization of Scientific Area Committees (OSAC) in the area of Forensic Investigation. NIST falls under the US Department of Commerce and brings together subject-matter experts to help develop national standards for products and procedures. The OSAC for Forensic Science “works to strengthen the nation’s use of forensic science by facilitating the development of technically sound forensic science standards and by promoting the adoption of those standards by the forensic science community”.
