Watts Travels to Australia for Public International Law Lectures

Sean Watts, JD, professor of law, traveled to Sydney, Australia, Oct. 13-18 to deliver four lectures at the Asia Pacific Centre for Military Law at Victoria Barracks. The audience included government and military lawyers from 14 nations from southeast and southwest Asia. The subject of Watts’ lectures was the operation of public international law in cyberspace. From Oct. 25-27, Watts was in West Point, New York, where he presented his forthcoming book chapter, “Law of War Precautions: A Cautionary Note,” at the Lieber Institute for the Law of Land Warfare at the Center for the Rule of Law at West Point. The chapter will be published by Oxford University Press. The invitation-only audience included academics, government officials and military lawyers from Europe and North America. Watts is currently a senior fellow with the Lieber Institute.
