The Nebraska Nurses Association (NNA) has inducted Linda Lazure, PhD, RN, FAAN, associate professor emerita of nursing at Creighton University College of Nursing, to the NNA Hall of Fame during the NNA Convention and Annual Meeting held Oct. 5 in Kearney, Nebraska.

The Hall of Fame recognizes outstanding nursing leaders who have demonstrated excellence through sustained, lifelong contributions to the field of nursing and its impact on the health and/or social history of Nebraska.

Lazure has been an influential member of the American Nurses Association since 1971 and has actively served at the national, state and local levels. As NNA President, Lazure was instrumental in the negotiation and passage of Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) legislation. Her determined efforts to expand Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) scope of practice directly influenced APRN growth, from less than 100 to more than 1,300 today.
